Stromboli has one of the most active volcanoes, called “Iddu” (His Majesty) by the inhabitants. The other side of the island is covered with Mediterranean scrub that makes an impressive contrast with the black volcanic soil. The tombs of the old cemetery are worth a visit as they are decorated with majolica.
Our expert-led private tour will start from San Vincenzo and we will reach the Sciara del Fuoco, where lava flows during the eruptions. This pleasant hike will allow the view of the small eruptions and it is impressive during the day as well as at night.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: The excursion does not present any particular difficulties. It is graded easy to medium – on the condition that participants do not present any respiratory condition or other significant health problems like high blood pressure. The elevation gain is 290 m.
