Our private cultural tour will start from the Cathedral, which is the symbol of the re-birth of the city. It was built on the ruins of a former Norman cathedral. Not too far from here, Montorsoli (one of Michelangelo’s pupils) built the Orion’s Fountain, that the art historian Berenson considered as the most beautiful 16th-century European fountain.
The Church of SS. Annunziata dei Catalani, which is a great example of the Arabian-Norman art in Sicily, and Santa Maria Alemanna, which is one of the rarest pure Gothic examples in the island, are other important monuments that you should visit.
“Maria Accascina” Regional Museum, where you can admire Antonello da Messina’s and Caravaggio’s extraordinary masterpieces, will be the last stage of our guided tour.
