Monumental trees, potters and delicacies in the heart of the Nebrodi National Park

In this easy private walking tour, we will go to a unique Sicilian setting in the heart of Nebrodi Mountains to see the “Taxus baccata”, an elegant conifer known as the European yew. In Sicily, this conifer grows only in the Nebrodi National Park in the territory of Caronia. Here we will admire the “Taxus baccata” in an enchanting forest featuring monumental trees, moss-covered rocks and a landscape of incredible beauty and charm. The walking tour will also traverse a fine beech forest and reward us with magnificent panoramic views.

We will then go to a farm for a tasting of delicious delicacies, including the renowned sausages from the black pig of the Nebrodi Mountains, cheeses, homemade bread, local wine and wild vegetables.

On the last stop of the tour, we will stroll around the old town of Santo Stefano di Camastra, famous for its ceramics and the particular urban arrangement of the historic center. We will visit the Pottery Museum in the historic Trabia Palace, the church of Collegio with the tomb of Giuseppe Lanza, Duke of Camastra, and the Old Cemetery with its precious 19th-century tiled tombs.
