Our private guided tour will start in Polizzi Generosa, which is a small medieval village on a hill on the southern slopes of the Madonie Mountains. It is a treasure chest full of artistic and naturalistic treasures, popular traditions and typical products. We will visit the medieval historic centre and the Mother Church which, dating back to the Norman period, contains an extraordinary 15th-century Flemish triptych.
We will continue with a visit to Petralia Soprana, one of the most enchanting towns of the Madonie Mountains. In the old town centre you can admire the 15th-century Mother Church which houses 17th-century paintings and precious wooden artifacts. Nearby is the church of the Savior, which was a mosque then consecrated for Christian rites by Count Roger. The church of Santa Maria di Loreto is an ancient fortress transformed into a church and rebuilt in 1750 with rococo decorations and a baroque façade with sculptures by Serpotta.
Our cultural tour will end in Geraci Siculo, renowned to be the capital of Ventimiglia County. We will take a step back in time by visiting the winding and evocative streets of the historic centre. We will visit the ruins of the Castle of the Ventimiglia family, the church of Sant'Anna and the Mother Church, proud custodian of precious works made by Gaginis and other sacred art treasures.
