On this private half-day tour, we will visit two of the most beautiful villages in North East Sicily: Castelmola and Taormina.
The medieval hamlet of Castelmola, which has been recently added to the list of the 100 most beautiful Italian hamlets, boasts very ancient origins. The historical centre still looks like the past one with alleys and houses that surround the Castle. Falcorny performances still take place within the ruins of this Castle thus emphasizing the medieval atmosphere of the hamlet.
Then, we will visit the enchanting Taormina, that hides the ruins of a glorious past among its alleys. Together with the magnificent Greek-Roman Theater, with its peculiar fissure that discloses the greatness of Mount Etna, there are many other vestiges of a rich and complex past. For example, there is the wonderful Piazza IX Aprile with the famous Torre dell’Orologio (Clock Tower), which is commonly recognized as the most panoramic tower of Sicily.
