We will make a short cultural journey to discover Greek and medieval Sicilian architecture starting from the coasts of Agrigento to Sicani’s inland by going through more than 2000 years.
Our private guided tour will develop along the rocky crest of the Temple Hill of Agrigento. A series of sanctuaries consecrated to the most important tutelary gods have decorated this crest since the late 6th century BC.
We will continue among crenellated walls, halls, towers, and the basement of Mussomeli Castle, whose majestic structure stands out on a solitary cliff overlooking a colourful lunar landscape. The sumptuous Castle, which was built by Manfredi III Chiaramonte during the second half of the 14th century, was regarded as one of the most important examples of the then-contemporary military architecture.
