We will make you live again almost two millennia of the history of Sicilian art by bringing you among Baroque monuments, pottery and mosaics.
This private day tour will start with a walk among the narrow lanes of the historical centre of the Unesco city of Caltagirone, which was rebuilt according to late Baroque architectural standards after the 1693 earthquake. It is characterised by colourful small shops that sell calatina majolica pottery. The final destination of this guided tour will be an enchanting rural, imperial Roman villa, another Unesco monument that was built during the 4th century AD. It still holds the biggest floor mosaic ever found (3500 sqm).
