Guiding you through myth and history, Roman antiquities and industrial archaeology, seaside and architecture, our private cultural tour will finally lead you to discover the archaeological and architectural treasures of the fertile coast of Noto already inhabited during the Bronze Age.
The Vendicari Tower was built in order to defend the old dock in the first half of the 15th century. In addition, its position on the top of the promontory was suitable for tuna fishing. This aspect is currently shown not only by the near 20th-century tuna fishery owned by the Modica Munafò Family, but also by the remains of a Hellenistic-Roman factory for fish processing.
Our expert-led tour will continue inside the Roman Villa of the River Tellaro, whose excavations disclosed an important mosaic dating back to the middle of the 4th century AD.
