I have a PhD in Islamic Archaeology from the Sapienza University of Rome and the Panthéon-Sorbonne University of Paris with a thesis on early Islamic domestic architecture and I am currently an associate member of the University of Paris 13. My passion for my beautiful land, La Sicilia, and the fascinating Islamic world leads me to divide my time between Italy and the Middle East, as an archaeologist and qualified tour guide. I also happily collaborate with the Italian Encyclopaedia “Treccani” for which I write educational articles.
I live my own journey in the most authentic way I know and for this reason I am the scientific director of “AnticaTrasversaleSicula”, an ambitious project of historical-archaeological routes that led me to walk through the Sicilian “trazzere" (country lanes) and to enter into symbiosis with the different souls of the island and its thousand-year history.
